Unit Notes: Department: Cath/EP/IR/Vascular Tech • # suites/labs: 7 Rooms Total (4 Cath Lab/EP & 3 IR). • #cases per day on average: Total all 20+ (in all rooms). • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: • Cath Lab: LHC, RHC, PCI, Structural, Watchman, Impella, IABP, IFR, FFR, IVUS, STEMI, Roto, Laser. • EP: Ablations (A.Fib, A. Flutter, SVT, VT, etc), EP studies with programmed stim, Pacemaker & ICD placements, Loop recorder implants. • IR: Port Placements, liver biopsy, IVC placements, g-tube placements, PICC & Central Line placements, & Neuro (coiling, thrombectomy, embolization's, etc.- Anesthesia supports Neuro cases). • Vascular: Fem-pops, AAA repair, Carotids, EVAR, Angios, and more. • Job Duties: Verify orders and consent, head-to-toe assessment, patient education, consent verification, set up room, circulate cases, administer moderate sedation/assist anesthesia providers, continuous monitoring of hemodynamics, documentation, coordinate with team, and more. • Experience or 'Must have' skills: 2 years cath lab experience, specific experience dependent on where we would utilized person. Must have IABP experience. • EMR/Equipment: Merge, Cerner. • Cardiologist hours/on call: Yes, STEMI Team includes 1 RN & 3 Techs. • Manager/Charge Nurse: 2 Team leads run scheduling and staffing; may be in staffing if needed. • Staffing: • Daily Staffing: Cath Lab: 1 RN, 3 Techs. • EP: Varies, 3 to 4 person team. • IR: 1 RN, 2 Tech, Anesthesia supports Neuro cases. • STEMI CALL Team: 4 Person (1 RN & 3 Techs). • Shifts & Scheduling: 4 ten-hour days per week plus call. 7- 1730. Rotating day off. Will consider 5- 8s 7-330. • Weeknight/Call Requirements: Weeknight and weekend call rotation. Approx once every 3 weekdays. • Weekend/Call Requirements: Yes rotation, once every 3 weekends. Fri- Mon. • Holiday/Call Requirements: May be asked to go into Holiday Call. • What is call response time?: 30 min. • Floating Requirements: Hybrid for vascular cases. • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Provided scrubs, can wear own scrub caps • Unit/Department specific orientation: Usually 2 -3 full days of training/shadowing, buddy call. No call the first week, 2nd week on call with a buddy then on their own.
