JOB DETAILS: • Target Ratios: 1:6/7 - 1:6 Target Ratio during normal staffing (max 1:7 ratio when census is up/ during critical staffing) • Unit will accept contracts for 13 weeks - 26 Weeks • 36 hours ONLY • Shift: 12HR NIGHTS; 18:45 - 07:15 • RTO 7 DAYS MAX for AUTO OFFER • Float Requirement: Yes, traveler will work with the CNRO(Centralized Resource Nursing Pool). Candidates will float all medical/Surgical floors • Weekend Requirement: Every other Weekend REQUIRED. at manager's discretion • Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed

Additional Unit Information • Interdisciplinary Support : IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary • Patient Diagnoses : Floating between several medical, surgical, and telemetry units. Assisting in caring for patients held in our ED who are inpatient • Special Procedures/Unit Details : Med Surg Tele skill set with edited years of experience and travel requirements • Contract staff may be required to care for patients with COVID • During times of increased census typical ratios may be higher. Contract staff will be assigned equally to the home unit staff to ensure that patients are covered with a registered nurse • Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team • Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster • Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed. • Special Equipment : THIS IS A FLOAT POSITION • Must have a teamwork approach and meet Novant behavioral expectations in all interactions with patients and staff. Must be able to adhere to Call off policy -STRONGLY ENFORCED.
Travel Compliance • Candidate must go into the lab within 48 hours after signing. All testing must be completed within 48 hours.
Submission Details : • Any previous PERM / PRN / EP staff employee of Novant Health or New Hanover must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler. Please note in the submission packet if your candidate previously worked here, the hospital name and dates of employment. Facility rehire approval is needed. We cannot proceed with any offer until rehire approval is obtained. Failure to disclose this information will negatively impact your candidate and may result in a cancel. Novant runs their own check on each traveler upon hiring, so we need to notify them beforehand. • Current travel Per Diem clinicians at Novant Health or New Hanover are ineligible for travel assignments. Working both simultaneously is not accepted. Clinicians must select either travel Per Diem or a Travel Contract. Please indicate in the submission packet if your candidate is currently in a travel Per Diem role at this Health system and if they wish to transition to a Travel Contract. • RTO - We can auto approve 7 days of RTO or less as long as it does not fall on a holiday. Anything more requires facility approval. Candidate MUST WORK 2 out of 3 major holidays. No RTO allowed during the first week of a traveler's assignment due to orientation. • NC or Compact license pending OK for submission. Required in hand at time of start. • Candidates may float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby - Please refer to the job description for floating details. It is common for travelers to float to other units based on their skill sets and based on census. Candidate must be comfortable floating based on the job description with no restrictions or special requests. • Travel Pairs - Allowed but MUST be submitted for and work on different units. Must be called out in the submission if your clinician is part of a travel pair. • Charting Exp Required - Epic is most common. Please review the specific job posting for details. • References - Pending references at time of submission OK. Required at time of start. Two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months are HIGHLY preferred at time of submission. • Fatigue Policy : Travelers cannot work more than 5 days in a row and/or more than 60 hours in a week. • Modules: Modules are non-billable. Acute Care roles: 8-10 hours of modules. Non-Acute roles: 4-5 hours of modules. Modules must be completed pre-start and annually, and hours vary by specialty. Modules are recorded via online learning, and Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes.
