Job Details: • Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years of Experience Required • Traveler Experience: Unit WILL NOT ACCEPT 1st time travelers. • Skills: IV Start, Telemetry • Certs: BCLS, ACLS, NIH • Target Ratios: 1:6/7 - 1:6 Target Ratio during normal staffing (max 1:7 ratio when census is up/ during critical staffing) • Unit will accept contracts for 13 weeks - 26 Weeks • 36 hours ONLY • Shift: 12HR NIGHTS; 18:45 - 07:15 • Float Requirement: Yes, traveler will work with the CNRO (Centralized Resource Nursing Pool). Candidates will float all medical/Surgical floors. It is common for travelers to float to other units based on their skill sets and based on census. Candidate must be comfortable floating based on the job description with no restrictions or special requests. • Weekend Requirement: Every other Weekend REQUIRED. • Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed. • Patient Diagnoses: Patients are med surg (We no longer accept cardiac telemetry patients as before). Floating between several medical, surgical, and telemetry units. Assisting in caring for patients held in our ED who are inpatient. Contract staff may be required to care for patients with COVID. • Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR • Scheduling Type: Self-scheduling per Unit Needs • Unit Orientation: 24 hours • Scrubs: Navy and/or White. • Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty. • COVID-19 Vaccine: Not Required • Flu Vaccine: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only • Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics • Daily Census: 43 • Interdisciplinary Support: IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary • Special Equipment: THIS IS A FLOAT POSITION • Must have a teamwork approach and meet Novant behavioral expectations in all interactions with patients and staff. Must be able to adhere to Call off policy - STRONGLY ENFORCED. • Fatigue Policy: Travelers cannot work more than 5 days in a row and/or more than 60 hours in a week. • Modules: Modules are non-billable. Acute Care roles: 8-10 hours of modules. Non-Acute roles: 4-5 hours of modules. Modules must be completed pre-start and annually, and hours vary by specialty.
