REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: • Minimum Years of Experience: 2 year • Traveler Experience: Will accept 1st time travelers. • Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes • Skills: Experience in an inpatient setting is required, Med/Surg, Colostomy care, Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Heparin, Insulin, Surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac • Certs: Will accept travelers that do not currently have the ONC cert! BLS
JOB DETAILS: • Primarily Medical Surgical patients with Oncology history • Target Ratios: 1:6 • Shift: NIGHTS • 13-26 weeks accepted • RTO: 7 days MAX - 36 or 48 hours. If 48 then no OT billed until after 48. • Call Requirement: Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift. • Float Requirement: Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding, such as inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location. • Weekend Requirement: EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED. Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Daily Census 42. • During times of increased census, typical ratios may be higher. • Contract staff will be assigned equally to the home unit staff to ensure that patients are covered with a registered nurse • Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team • Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster • Contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed • Like units includes floating to inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location. • Shifts called out will need to have make up shifts rescheduled. • Attendance to monthly staff meetings.
UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR.
UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hrs (2 shifts)
SCRUBS: Navy Blue and white.
Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty

Modules: • Modules are non-billable • Acute Care roles: 8-10 hours of modules • Non-Acute roles: 4-5 hours of modules • Modules must be completed pre-start and annually, and hours vary by specialty • Modules are recorded via online learning, and Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes
