Shift: 12H Nights 12 hr nights. Every other weekend and holiday.
Unit Notes: • Cannot take any travelers living within a 60 mile radius of the facility.
MUST Have: • 2 years recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting, 250+ beds • Experience in a busy level 1 trauma center • Active BLS - must be AHA • Active ND or Compact RN License • EPIC experience - please note on resume where used it. • Willing to float to all units/locations within Fargo as needed • Travel experience - highly preferred
General job duties. Types of procedures required. • Provide nursing cares to adult patients on a 32-bed medical-surgical unit. • Perform head-to-toe and focused assessments, administer medications, communicate with interdisciplinary team, update patient and family on plan of care, advocate for patient as needed, and document all cares.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. • EPIC, OmniCell, Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, Language Line, Zebra phones.
Required skills and minimum years of experience. • Thorough attention to detail, understanding of a variety of disease processes, ability to communicate clearly and work well on a team. • Preferred minimum 2 years of bedside nursing experience in a comparably sized hospital.
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. • BLS - must be AHA. • RN or compact state license.
Shift or schedule requirements. • 12-hour shifts, rotating day/night, every other weekend, every other holiday. • We don t have a certain time frame that they rotate. They might work 3 weeks days than 3 weeks nights one schedule cycle and the next schedule cycle all days or all nights. All depends on the unit needs. • The travelers can self schedule however they are only guaranteed to have the days off that are listed on their contract and during balance may be moved off a shift that they self-scheduled to balance the unit. If staff do need a specific day off and we can t support it as the switch would off balance our unit we ask them to find someone to trade with like we do our badge staff. There is usually high success in finding someone to switch with. • When we balance the schedule we are very mindful that staff aren t flipping back and forth from days to nights frequently.
Floating to over units/departments. • May be required to float to other med-surg units at SMCF and Broadway Sanford.

Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. • 0700-2300: 1:4-5 • 2300-0700: 1:5-6
Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. • 8-hour classroom training in the LEAD Center followed by 24 hours of unit training. • All clinicians must badge in and out at facility • Scrub Color: Navy Blue
