Call Requirements: No call requirements unless sent home during shift due to low census we ask our coworkers to be available to the end of their regular scheduled shift for possible admits.
Unit Information: • Number of Beds: 12 • Patient Ratios: Are not guaranteed. Vented/critical pts 1:1, ICU status 2:1, and floor status 3:1. Ratios are determined by acuity • Equipment: No specific equipment • EMR: EPIC
Hiring Profile: • Must Have Skills/Experience: At least 1 full year of PICU experience post orientation period. Must be Vent trained and have BLS and PALs • Preferred Skillset/Experience: ENPC • Type of Patients on Unit: Respiratory, Surgical, Trauma/Burn, NeuroSurg, Sepsis, Hematology/Oncology and Endocrinology

Night shift orients on day shift and must be available the entire week Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards
Overview: Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups to include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, Mercy Code of Conduct, Mercy Mission and Values and Mercy Service Standards. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Demonstrated skill in human relations and communications is required. Must have demonstrated clinical expertise in their area of responsibility.
Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: Stand and walk most of the time on duty. Lift and push patients on strollers and in wheelchairs. Usually work in a clean, air-conditioned area. Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs., pinch up to 15 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally.
