Unit Details: • Job Title: Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse - Nights • Schedule: 3x12's Night shift • On-call: None • Estimated Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience. • EPIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! • Certifications Required: BLS ACLS NIHSS AHA Certifications only. • Skills Required: Proficient in IV start, Experience with telemetry, Competency with ventilators, Arterial line management, Assist with management of BiPAP, Assist with management of CPAP, Blood Product Administration, Care of Ventilated Patient, Central line care/management, Continuous IV sedation, CVVHD/CRRT*, Emergency Medications, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Infection Prevention, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)*, Isolation Precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, Management of dysrhythmias, Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention*, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Starting and maintaining IVs, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, Ventilator Management. • Preferred Qualifications: Previous travel nursing experience, Proficiency in EPIC documentation system. • Float Required: Will be required to float to different units within the OSU organization as needed. • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend. • Patient Age Groups: Adults • Daily Census: 28 • Number of Rooms: 30 • Number of Beds: 30 • Interdisciplinary Support: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary. • Patient Diagnoses: Cardiac Medical ICU, ACS, Acute MI, Cardiogenic Shock, Post interventional cardiac procedure patients, Decompensating heart failure, TAVR. Secondary diagnosis included to but not limited to GI bleed, chronic or acute renal failure, exacerbation of airway disease, diabetes mellitus, pneumonia, and r/o embolus. • Special Equipment: IABP, Impella, Activated Clotting time, hemodynamic monitoring, CRRT, Vents, EKOS.
Additional Requirements: • RNs must have valid compact or state license in hand at time of submission. • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
