Unit Notes:
• Strict 75 mile radius rule
• Unit: 2C Observation Unit
• # of beds: 22
• Ratios: 1:5 or 1:6
• Charge in staffing: Yes - occasionally have patients
• Required Certifications: BLS (ACLS not required, but highly recommended)
• Common diagnoses/Types of patients: miscellaneous - medical observation unit
• Experience or 'Must have' skills: Common titratable &/or set rate drips (Heparin only)
• Nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: CNA-2 if able for floor
• RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): No Vents
• Tele on this unit: Heavy tele unit. Monitored by Central monitoring. RNs read strips.
• Weekend Requirements: Every Other Weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Rotate with perm staff
• Call or a standby requirement: No call
• Floating Requirements: Yes to med surg
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Caribbean Blue top and bottom OR White top and Caribbean Blue bottom OR all white top/bottom.
• Unit/Department specific orientation: 3 shift
• Additional Notes: Fast paced unit, high turn over, D/C or admission from here.
• Additional Questions: D/C up to 16/day and refill on this unit. FAST paced.
• RN do own EKGs, draw own labs.
