HOLIDAY POLICY IS TO WORK 2 OF THE 3 WINTER HOLIDAYS. 13 week contract. Call 2x per schedule. Must be able to Circulate and Scrub. 2 years of Current acute care OR experience required. JCMC is a LEVEL 2 Trauma Center. Robotic and ENT experience required. Ortho, vascular, general, thoracic, neuro experience required. Patient Mix: All OR specialties except Open Heart. Submit work history Scrub and Circulate skills checklist. BLS Required. First-time traveler's accepted. Scrubs provided. Charting System: EPIC. COVID-19 Vaccine: Not Required. Flu Vaccine: Unknown.
Submittals: Requested Time Off: A screenshot of the candidate confirming their RTO & schedule requests is required upon submission. These submissions will be prioritized. Requests with less than 7 days of RTO, and no Holiday time off, will be prioritized. RTO requested after an offer will NOT be accommodated. Clinicians are expected to adhere to the agreed-upon schedule and should NOT request changes once onsite. Must be available to work 2 of 3 Holidays (unless otherwise specified in job description).
Block/Special Scheduling: Schedule requests cannot be accommodated unless approved at time of booking. Contract at RWJ is expected to be travelers primary work schedule. If traveler is working elsewhere, RWJ is NOT required to accommodate unless approved prior to offer.
Return Staff Policy: RWJBH staff (full time or PRN) must be gone from the RWJBH health system a minimum of 1 year before they are eligible to return for travel assignments.
Floating Requirements/Ratios: Candidates are required to float within their skillset, no exceptions. Ratios vary based on census and staffing. When floated, RNs will be assigned a patient ratio based on patient acuity.
License/Certifications: Active NJ or Compact license is required at time of submission. All certifications required at time of submission unless otherwise specified. Please indicate upon submission if traveler will acquire certificate prior to start date.
Submissions: Maximum of 3 submissions per candidate per facility.
Local Rules: Locals accepted at the same rate.
Background Policy: Open/active BG hits and/or License Hits NOT accepted.
Compliance: Labs MUST be completed 48 hours of signing. Valid NJ State License or Compact License required for both allied and nursing, at time of submission. Failing competency exams require a 6-month break before clinician can re-submit. Certifications are required at time of submission unless otherwise specified. References required. Any international work history or permanent residency MUST be disclosed. ED/Behavioral Health/Psychiatric RNs MUST complete de-escalation training within 14 days of their start date.
Modules: Modules are non-billable, 4 hours of EPIC training and up to 18 hours of additional hours. • RN: average 18 hours of non-billable modules • Allied: average 1 hour of non-billable modules Modules are completed pre-start, and annually. Modules are recorded by transcripts for onsite specific modules. RWJBH annuals, Baxter pump, and signed attestations are self-reported, and EPIC training is facility reported.
Cancellations/Attendance Policies: Should a traveler need to cancel their contract for any reason, RWJBH asks for adequate notice, defined as: • MSP contracted travelers: 14-day notice • CRISIS / RAPID contracted travelers: 10-day notice Failure to provide proper notice, as outlined, will result in a system DNR for RWJ Barnabas Health system. No Exceptions. Clinicians are required to make up any missed shifts within the same pay period. Any callouts exceeding 2-3 days during the contractual period is considered excessive and may result in a system DNR upon contract completion. Clinicians may not call out for their final week of the contract. Failure to complete the final week will result in an automatic system DNR.
