Unit Information: 18 James - PCU HIGH ACUITY - NIGHTS. • 13-16 weeks assignment. • ONCOLOGY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED! • Medical Oncology with progressive care beds/pediatric patients. High acuity of PCU and small amount of med surg.
Schedule: • Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule. • First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. • Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor.
Special Procedures/Unit Details: • 18J is a 36 bed Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to PCU level of care. • Pediatric patients are cared for on this unit but are extremely rare and would likely be cared for by perm staff. Pediatric experience is NOT required to be agency RN here. • Required: High acuity PCU patient experience. • Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls.
Requirements: • 2 years of oncology experience preferred, but NOT REQUIRED. • Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), ACLS & NIH. • Ratio: 1:4-5 Med Surg Telemetry Ratio: 1:3 PCU. • Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. • Previous travel experience preferred.

Reference Requirements: • 2 professional references are required. At least 1 reference must be from a manager/director or someone in a formal leadership capacity (e.g., a supervisor). • Charge RN acceptable for 2nd reference. No coworker references accepted. • Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more. • Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location. • RNs- must have valid compact or state license in hand at time of submission. • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
