Removing potentially harmful and triggering environmental features. Restraining, consoling, and sometimes medicating highly unsettled patients. Recording patients' health journeys and reporting on notable alterations. Conducting targeted psychoeducation, particularly within families.
Strong Adolescent & Child preferred, if no adolescent and child experience, they must have 2 years. Children, adolescent, adults units, will need to open to all. Will provide CPI training. May be expected to step in as charge nurse as needed (May include rate increase for that shift).
Most of the time there is a shift supervisor working at the same time, CNO, nurse manager onsite and available and someone on call.
Patient Ratios Nights: 10 Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Pediatrics Daily Census: 40 Number of Rooms: 45 Number of Beds: 45 Patient Diagnoses: ADhD, DMDD, Conduct disorder, depression, anxiety. We are a short-stay crisis stabilization hospital. Special Procedures/Unit Details: Units are co-ed. All patients have individual rooms. Nurse's stations are on each unit. Security in the hospital 24/7 and responds to all codes. Unit size: 14-bed pediatric unit, 17-bed adolescent unit, (2) 7-bed units. All C&A operate the same way and follow the same programming. Special Equipment: We use the strongline alert system. All staff carry a walkie. All staff are trained in CPI including advanced skills.
