Float Required: Yes, to any adult critical care unit, any tele unit including cardiac medical and neuro tele; ED as functional help only.

Weekend Coverage: Yes, every other or as needed.

Interdisciplinary Support: IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary.
Patient Diagnoses: MS ICU - Neuro and Level II Trauma, 50% Neuro and 50% MS ICU, 17-102 yrs old. Patient Population (Diagnoses): multi-system medical/surgical ICU and neuro/trauma; >50% of pts are neuro trauma or strokes.
Special Procedures/Unit Details: • CRRT / POST TPA • Trauma Level II - prefer candidates with some Trauma experience • Neuro- (screen strong candidates without Neuro)
Unit Specific Procedures and Protocols: • ABGs by RT and RN • Venipuncture mostly done by lab, but is allowed if proficient • Vascular access team is available • Transport is available but we send either primary or helper RN
Additional Unit Specific Information: • Very high acuity ICU. • ICU experience must be recent. • Must be a strong team player, can-do attitude, strong critical thinking, positive personality, focused on patient-centered compassionate care. • Helps to have prior EPIC, but not required.
Special Equipment: Philips monitor; Alaris pumps; Prismaflex CRRT; some swan ganz and PA caths.
