Tracking routine vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry measurements. Interpreting measurements from specialized medical equipment. Monitoring and administering prescribed medication, as well as performing titration of drug doses. Performing diagnostic assessments on changes in measurements, as well as designated interventions. Reporting deteriorating conditions to healthcare specialists and following intervention instructions. Updating and maintaining ward charts, patient files, and medical records. Overseeing Progressive Care Unit nursing assistants and support staff. Explaining treatments and procedures to patients and their families, as well as answering questions.
Typically 1:4 ratio; flex to 1:5 ratio in emergencies. Please limit holiday RTO requests to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays. Possible extension: Yes. Skills required: IV start, telemetry. Unit Info: there are a number of their SDU patients that would be Progressive Care or Tele patients in a larger facility. The acuity will vary. Travel experience: Not required. BLS, ACLS, PALS Certifications must be via American Heart Association, if the Certification is required by the unit. Any previous probationary actions on license will be considered on case-by-case basis. Perm employees CANNOT RETURN AS TRAVELERS FOR 2 YEARS AFTER LAST DATE WORKED PERM. Current Vandalia Health System employees: please note, if candidate is currently employed at any Vandalia Health System facility (CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, Minnie Hamilton Health System) working as perm, PRN, etc. they will not be eligible for a travel contract at this facility. Modules: • Modules are non-billable, average 8 hours spent on modules • Modules are completed prior to start and are not included in the 16 hrs of NBO, and modules do not vary by specialty • Modules are recorded on a transcript and monitored by the compliance team, who reports modules completion to the facility
