Experience or "Must have" skills - Candidates must be very proficient in the most complex cases. Level 1 or 2/Teaching experience is preferred. Will also consider candidates with demonstrated experience working in complex cases at Cardiac Surgery Centers. No first time travelers unless they have 2+ years of experience
Cardiovascular and cardiothoracic cases, heart transplant, valves, CABG.

call coverage 1-2 NIGHTS PER WEEK, 1 WEEKEND PER MONTH

Cardiovascular Operating Room Surgical Technician will: perform duties as a surgical technician in all areas with primary focus on Cardiothoracic Surgery; assess equipment, instrument and supply needs for the surgical procedure and ensure availability; . provide basic surgical support including Room Set-up, sterile field management and specimen management; assist the surgical team with gowning and gloving; anticipate the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon during the procedure; maintain a clean and organized sterile field; perform surgical counts accurately; clean and prepare instruments for sterilization; and participate in room cleaning and turnover.

provided, but please dress appropriately to walk in and out of hospital Unit/Department specific orientation
manager or educator will meet with traveler to review epic documentation, basics of unit and main policies to be aware of (nurses and techs), they will have to sign off on some policies. At least 2 12 hour shifts of orientation with preceptor, sometimes 3. May depend on area they are working in.
