Must have Ortho Experience Scheduled hours are as follows : The hours of work are 0630-1700 four days per week Tues-Fri plus call which will be equitable amongst the staff to include weekday, weekend and holiday coverage. The holidays to include one of the following commitments Thanksgiving (Thurs morning at 0630-Monday morning at 0630), Christmas (Thurs morning at 0630-Monday morning at 0630) or New Years (Thurs morning at 0630-Monday morning at 0630) CERTS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS: Must maintain current CPR certification. Certification as OR Surgical Technician is Required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES PER AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: • Assists the surgeons and nursing staff in the performance of surgical procedures. • Collaborates with all members of the surgical team for the benefit of the patient. • Demonstrates clinical competence in surgical technical skills, Sterile Processing, Endoscopy and Materials Management Departments. • Demonstrates a superior sterile conscience through understanding of principles of asepsis and consistently maintains sterile technique. • Communicates to the circulating RN and surgeons any breaks in technique. • Ensures all necessary equipment is in the room prior to the start of the case. • Demonstrates competency in safely operating all electro-surgical, diagnostic, video equipment, disposable equipment, as well as equipment unique to each specialty area.
