MUST Have: • Min 1 year recent Medical Surgical experience • Experience with surgical oncology patients preferred, but not required • EPIC experience • Experience working in larger hospital (200 beds min), level 2 or higher trauma center
General Job Duties: • MS patients and Surgical Oncology patients • Collaborates with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care • Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting
Equipment utilized in the unit/department: • EMR-Epic • AccuDose • Bladder Scanner • Phillips monitors • Telemetry
Required skills and minimum years of experience: • 1 year med/surg experience • Surgical oncology experience preferred
Shift or schedule requirements: • 12 hour shifts • Every other weekend (EOW) • Every other holiday (EOH)
Floating: • Home unit 5SE but can float to any med/surg unit on any campus
Unit Details: • Bed size/number of rooms: 47 bed department • Nurse to patient ratio: 5:1 day shift and 6:1 night shift
Unit/department specific training and orientation program: • 1 day lead center training • 2 - 12 hour shifts on the unit with a preceptor
