Position Summary: Minimum 2 years of experience. The Perioperative RN is responsible for coordinating and managing safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care for surgical patients throughout the perioperative process including the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases. The employee will provide support, education, direct care to patients, and act as a liaison between the surgical team and the patient families/support systems. Using a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to patient care, the perioperative nurse works closely with the entire surgical team. The perioperative registered nurse may serve as a: (1) Circulating Nurse, (2) 1st Scrub (Instrument) Nurse, and/or (3) 2nd Scrub (Assistant) Nurse depending on level of experience and training. Must have Cerner EHR experience.
Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent Graduate of an accredited RN program BSN is desired but not required
Experience: Gastroenterology / Endoscopy Lab experience Orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT surgical procedures and interventional pain management experience is required.
Licenses / Certifications: Current licensure as RN, in good standing Current AHA BLS certification Current ACLS certification Current PALS certification CNOR certification
