Shift: Days (7a-7p)
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, compassionate, and timely care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced, 36-bed Emergency Department that serves approximately 59,000 patients annually. The ED RN is responsible for rapid assessment, prioritization, intervention, and evaluation of patients presenting with a wide range of emergent and urgent conditions. This role requires strong critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities • Perform comprehensive and focused assessments of patients presenting with emergent, urgent, or non-urgent conditions. • Triage patients using evidence-based triage protocols to determine acuity levels and initiate appropriate care. • Provide rapid intervention and stabilization for patients experiencing medical, surgical, traumatic, psychiatric, and pediatric emergencies. • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with hospital policy and provider orders. • Operate and monitor medical equipment such as cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, and point-of-care testing devices. • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, EMS personnel, and other healthcare team members. • Coordinate patient care, including diagnostic testing, re-evaluation, disposition planning, and patient education. • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record. • Participate in rapid response, trauma activations, code blue, stroke, and STEMI protocols as required. • Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety guidelines, and hospital standards. • Support a culture of patient-centered care, empathy, and service excellence in a high-volume ED environment.
Qualifications Required: • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Oklahoma (or compact license). • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification. • Preferred/Required within timeframe after hire: TNCC and ENPC certifications. • Prior experience in Emergency Nursing, Critical Care, or high-acuity settings.
