Excel is seeking highly skilled healthcare professionals for travel assignments across the United States. As a Travel Healthcare Professional, you will have the opportunity to work in diverse healthcare settings, providing essential medical care while exploring new locations and cultures.
Key Responsibilities: • Provide direct patient care in accordance with healthcare facility policies and procedures. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. • Maintain accurate patient medical records and documentation. • Adhere to infection control standards and other regulatory requirements. • Educate patients and their families on healthcare plans and treatments.
Qualifications: • Minimum 2 years of experience. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to adapt to different environments and work independently.
Unit Details: • Runs more like an ICU. Strong drip experience is a must. • REQUIRED Skills: must have experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams, IV insulin protocols, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Heparin Protocols, CVA, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Tracheostomy Management, Isolation Precautions. • REQUIRED: experience with IV start, telemetry and conscious sedation. • Target Ratios: 3:1 or 4:1 • Weekend Requirement: EVERY OTHER WEEKEND. • Patient Age Groups: Adolescent, adult, geriatric. • Patient Diagnoses: ICU stepdown. Post rapid response team patients, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, GI bleeds, post-op: GYN, GU, GI, thoracotomies (>24-hrpost-op), neuro, ortho surgeries. Pre/post OB with complications (Pitocin). • Special Procedures/Unit Details: Only one pressor drip per patient, any additional titratable drips may warrant transfer to ICU. Insulin, Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Neo drips titrated on unit. Unit will have COVID patients. • Special Equipment: Bedside telemetry monitors with remote backup. Nurses must be able to recognize and treat dysrhythmias. A-lines, BIPAP's, chest tubes, trach's, there are no vents on unit. • UNIT SYSTEMS: Pyxis and Epic • SCRUBS: Navy, White or a combination of the two. • Interdisciplinary Support: IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary. • Fatigue Policy: Travelers cannot work more than 5 days in a row and/or more than 60 hours in a week. • Modules: Modules are non-billable. Acute Care roles: 8-10 hours of modules. Non-Acute roles: 4-5 hours of modules. Modules must be completed pre-start and annually, and hours vary by specialty. Modules are recorded via online learning, and Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes.
